Calculate time difference between cities

Convert a time from one city to another for meetings, calls, travel and remote work.

The time difference calculator converts a time from one city to another, accounting for each city's current UTC offset and any daylight saving adjustment in effect on the date you choose. Use it to schedule international calls, plan travel, coordinate remote teams, or find out what time it is where a colleague lives.

How to use this calculator

  1. Pick the source city whose time you know.
  2. Pick the target city whose time you need.
  3. Enter the time and date in the source city.
  4. The result shows the equivalent local time in the target city, plus the time difference in hours.

Worked example

A 9:00 AM meeting in New York on a summer date corresponds to 2:00 PM in London, 3:00 PM in Berlin, 6:30 PM in Mumbai and 11:00 PM in Sydney. The calculator shows all of these at once so you can pick a time that lands in working hours for every participant, or spot that a 9 AM New York start is too late for Mumbai.

Frequently asked questions

How is the time difference calculated?
The calculator converts your input time from the source city's current time zone (including any daylight saving adjustment in effect on the chosen date) to the target city's time zone. The result reflects the actual clock time in the target city at that moment.
Does the calculator account for daylight saving time?
Yes. Each city uses its current UTC offset, which includes daylight saving time where applicable. Because DST start and end dates differ by country, always check the specific date if the offset is close to a DST transition.
Why is the time difference between two cities not always the same?
The offset changes when either city enters or leaves daylight saving time. For example, New York and London are 5 hours apart for most of the year, but only 4 hours apart for a few weeks in spring and autumn when the US and Europe change their clocks on different dates.
Can I convert a time for a future date?
Yes. Pick the date you need the conversion for and the calculator applies the UTC offsets that will be in effect on that date, including scheduled daylight saving transitions.
Is this calculator free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser and costs nothing to use. No sign-up, no data sent to a server.
