Worked example
Today is July 7, 2026. Christmas Day is December 25, 2026 — that is 171 days away, or 24 weeks and 3 days, or roughly 5 months and 18 days. If you are planning a campaign that needs eight weeks of lead time, the countdown tells you the latest date you can start and still hit Christmas.

- The calculator counts the number of days between today and your target date. It also shows the equivalent in weeks (with remaining days) and months (with remaining days), using average month lengths.
- Can I count days since a past date?
- Yes. Enter a date in the past and the calculator will show how many days, weeks, and months have elapsed since that date.
- Does the countdown update in real time?
- The countdown is calculated based on today's date when you enter the target date. Refresh the page to get the latest count.
- How accurate is the month count?
- Months vary in length (28–31 days), so the month count uses the average of 30.44 days. For exact month counting, use our date calculator or age calculator.
