Business Days with Holidays

How to use this calculator

  1. Pick the country whose holiday calendar applies to your range.
  2. Enter the start date and end date.
  3. Toggle Include Saturdays or Include Sundays if your work week includes weekend days.
  4. The result shows the number of business days in the range, plus a list of every public holiday that was excluded.

Worked example

A US-based payroll run starts on December 24, 2026 and ends on January 5, 2027. The calendar span is 13 days. After removing weekends and the Christmas Day, New Year's Day and Martin Luther King Jr. Day federal holidays that fall in that window, the calculator reports the exact number of working days available for processing — so you can promise a delivery date to a client without counting a day the office was closed.

Frequently asked questions

How are business days calculated?
Business days are weekdays (Monday–Friday) minus any public holidays in the selected country that fall on a weekday. You can also include Saturdays and Sundays if your work schedule includes them.
Which countries have holiday data?
This calculator supports 18 country calendars across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, India and the Middle East. Holiday data covers 2025–2028 depending on the country.
What if a holiday falls on a weekend?
Holidays that fall on a weekend are not double-counted. The calculator excludes weekend days first, then subtracts any holidays that fall on weekdays.
Can I include Saturdays or Sundays as business days?
Yes. Toggle "Include Saturdays" or "Include Sundays" to count them as business days. This is useful for countries or industries where weekend work is standard.
